CANFIELD HANDS BLUE DEVILS THEIR FIRST LOSS
CANFIELD OH- Canfield has an up and down week coming in to Saturday. With a big conference win over Boardman, a tough road loss to Mineral Ridge, and then another win against East, the Cardinals looked to end the week on a positive welcoming in McDonald. The Cardinals took care of business and swept the undefeated Blue Devils. (25-14 25-16 25-20)
Abby Muckelroy led a very balanced Cardinals offense with 12 kills on the day. Maddy Cleevely was next in line with 9 kills out of the outside. Bella Bucciarelli wasn’t far behind with 8 kills. Carly Slaven chipped in 7 kills. Riley Kinkade did a good job distributing the all and totaled 17 assists. She inches closer to her 1000th career assist. Parker Wilkins led the back row with 22 digs.
McDonald’s offense was led by Gianna Constantino who led with 8 kills. Maria Rasile had 6 kills, and 19 digs. Megan Klockner finished with 19 assists. Miley Titus shared the team lead in digs with 19.
Canfield will have a couple of days off before they return to league play Thursday against Warren Harding. McDonald will get back to MVAC action Tuesday traveling to Sebring.
