CANFIELD MAKING SURE TO STAY ON POINT

STRUTHERS OH- Canfielf defeated Lakeview 8-2 Friday night thanks to a strong start. Canfield scored on a single by Scottie Eaton, a single by AJ Havrilla, and a double by Ben Slanker in the second inning.

The Cardinals pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Eaton singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Havrilla singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, and Slanker doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Noah Anzevino took the win for Canfield. Anzevino surrendered two runs on five hits over three innings. Stephen Maszczak and Trent Rarick entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Brandon Toot took the loss for Lakeview. The bulldog lasted two innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out one.

Canfield saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Slanker, Eaton, and Zain Jadallah all collected multiple hits. Jadallah, Eaton, and Slanker each collected two hits to lead Canfield Varsity Canfield Cardinals Varsity.
