CANFIELD SURGES LATE TO RUN AWAY WITH DISTRICT CROWN

Landon Beidelchies threw a gem on Thursday for Canfield, allowing zero runs and besting Canton South by a score of 10-0. Canfield is the 2021 Division 2 Struthers District Champions.
The Cardinals secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning. Josh Juliano, Dom Magliocca, AJ Havrilla, Beidelchies, and Vince Machuga all drove in runs in the frame.
In the first inning, Canfield got their offense started when Beidelchies singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
The Cardinals put up seven runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Juliano, Magliocca, Havrilla, Beidelchies, and Machuga, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Beidelchies pitched Canfield to victory. The pitcher went six innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out 12 and walking zero.
Canfield tallied 11 hits. Beidelchies, Machuga, Juliano, and Ben Slanker all had multiple hits. Slanker, Juliano, Machuga, and Beidelchies each managed two hits to lead. The Cardinals tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Magliocca led the way with three.
