GREAT GUGLI MOOGLY; CARDS WIN WITH LATE GAME HEROICS

STRUTHERS OH- Mooney defeat Ursuline, 4-3, in this season’s second installment of Holy Wars to clinch the season series.
Ursuline struck first off a sac fly RBI from Rowan Urbach in the top of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Mooney responded quickly with an RBI single from Ben Oddis in the bottom of the first to tie the game at 1-1. Ursuline responded with another sac fly RBI, this time from Thomas Kasovan, in the top of the second to take a 2-1 lead.
Ryan Reese grounded into a double play with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second to drive in another run for Mooney to tie the game back up at 2-2. Mooney struck again in the third inning, as Ford Stacy hit an RBI double to give the Cardinals a 3-2 lead. Anthony Triveri hit a sac fly RBI for Ursuline in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game back up at 3-3.
Ford Stacy led off the bottom of the sixth with a single and eventually came around to score off a wild pitch to give Mooney a 4-3 lead. Ursuline started to rally in the top of the seventh inning, having runners on the corners with no outs, but Ford Stacy forced a fly out and double play to end the inning to secure the win for Mooney.
Ford Stacy picked up the win on the mound, pitching a complete game, only giving up three runs on seven hits, and recorded four strikeouts. Mooney and Ursuline meet again next Tuesday for the third and final game of the 2025 Holy Wars series.
