CANFIELD, OHIO – Tough, hard fought conference games always make for exciting action on the field. Canfield grinded one out against one of their AAC opponents Monday night, taking down Howland 8-4.

Canfield fell behind early when Brenden Ray fought off an 0-2 pitch for a two-run, RBI double for Howland. After answering back with a run in the bottom of the first, Canfield ripped things open with a five-run bottom of the third. Michael Patellis and Zain Jaballah each doubled in two runs and Tanner Stricko singled on a 0-2 pitch which brought in the fifth run.

Patellis had the hot stick at the plate for Canfield, going 3-for-3 to lead his team in hits on the evening. Jameson Beck got the win on the hill. The right-hander gave up four runs, nine hits and struck out five through seven innings, bouncing back nicely after the 2 early runs by Howland in the first.

These two teams will go to battle again Tuesday night at the same location and same first pitch time at 5:00 p.m.
