CARDINALS PITCHING STAYS ON FIRE TO CLINCH AAC

STRUTHERS, OHIO- Michael Patellis had all the right stuff on Friday for Canfield, allowing zero runs and besting Austintown-Fitch by a score of 1-0 as Canfield also clinched the AAC outright with the victory.

The pitching was strong on both sides as Patellis struck out 11, while Jack Knight sat down six.

The Cardinals got on the board in the first inning when they scored one run when Ben Slanker singled. Slanker also led the Cardinals at the plate going 2 for 3.

Patellis earned the win on the mound as he lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 11 and walking one.

Knight took the loss for Austintown-Fitch. Knight lasted six innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out six.

Canfield will return to the diamond when they travel to Salem on Monday. Austintown-Fitch will take on Ursuline at home on Monday.
