CARDINALS RUN OUT OF STEAM IN REGIONAL FINAL

BARBERTON OH- Canfield impressed in their first regional semifinals since 2013 on Tuesday. The Cardinals jumped out to a huge lead, and then controlled the rest of the game.  The tables were turned on the Cardinals on Friday night in the championship game. It was Northwest that would jump out to an early 11-1 lead after a quarter of play. After Canfield opened the second quarter on a 8-0 run to cut the game to 11-9, the Indians answered with an 8-0 run themselves to close out the half.  Northwest had complete control the rear of the way, and stormed to a 51-29 win.

Carlie Harmon and Kate Sahli both have everything they had to the Cardinals cause. They led their team with 9 points each.  Camie Dill contributed 6 points with a pair of threes for Canfield.

Canfield ends the season at 25-2 on the year and made their first regional tournament in 10 seasons.  Northwest will advance to the state semifinals in Dayton against Fairland Thursday at 11:00am.
