CARDINALS SNAP GIRARD’S UNDEFEATED SEASON

GIRARD OH- Canfield and Girard completed their regular season with a huge clash on Thursday night. The match included a player on each side that has gathered 1,000 career kills. It was Canfield though that made more plays down the stretch to win the match in four sets. (25-22 26-24 20-25 27-25)

Canfield was led by a spectacular effort from Abbey Householder. She finished the night with 39 kills. Abby Muckleroy was strong on defense and offense ending up with 6 kills, and 3 blocks. Parker Wilkins won the Cocca’s Pizza Player of The Game with her impressive defense that consistently got the Cardinals in to their offense.

Girard was led by Lauren Pallone who finished the night with 26 kills, and 16 digs to complete a double double. Bree Latell had a solid night as well with 20 kills, and 17 digs. Latell left the game in the fourth set with an injury.

Canfield will now look ahead to tournaments where they await the winner of Aurora against Canton McKinley. If Aurora wins, that game will be played in Aurora, if McKinley wins Canfield will host. That game will be on the 23rd at 3:00. Girard opens their tournament run on October 20th at 7:30 at home against Chaney.
