CARDINALS SURVIVE LATE NEW PHILLY SURGE

CANFIELD OH- The Canfield Cardinals took on the New Philadelphia Quakers in week 3 at Cardinal Stadium.

The Cardinals got on the board first with a 65 yard touchdown run from senior quarterback Ethan Fletcher. New Philadelphia then responded with a long drive to tie the game up. Later in the first half, Brock Lowry returned an interception to the house to increase the Cardinal lead.

The Cardinals would lead at half 31-14, but the Quakers did not go down without a fight. The Quakers scored 10 unanswered in the second half, while dominating time of possession. Canfield was able to use the clock to their advantage, and hang on to a 31-24 victory.

Canfield improves to 3-0, and will travel to Dover for their first road game of 2020 in week 4. New Philadelphia is now 2-1, and will take on Steubenville Thursday night.
