CARDS PULL OFF ANOTHER CLOSE CONFERENCE WIN

CANFIELD, OH — The Canfield Cardinals girls basketball team maintained their undefeated record in All-American Conference (AAC) play with a 46-37 victory over the Warren G. Harding Raiders on Saturday.
After trailing at halftime, Canfield (15-1, 4-0 AAC) mounted a strong second-half comeback, outscoring Harding 32-18 in the final two quarters to secure the win. The Cardinals trailed 10-8 after the first quarter and 19-14 at the break before taking control in the third, ending the quarter with a 31-26 lead.
Jenna Triveri led the Cardinals with 20 points, earning co-Player of the Game honors for her offensive performance. Ceci Muckleroy also received the distinction for her defensive contributions and critical minutes as Canfield navigated foul trouble among its starters. Other contributors for Canfield included Carly Fleming and Sofia Castronova with eight points each, Marina Koenig with four points and Aleen Barakat with three.
The Raiders (11-4, 1-3 AAC) were paced by Nadia McQueen, who scored a game-high 19 points. Ja’Leah Provitt chipped in six points, Trinity Taylor added five, Akeelha Barnes scored four, and Cayden Reed contributed three.
The Cardinals will face a critical conference matchup at home against the Boardman Spartans (7-8, 3-1 AAC) on Wednesday, Jan. 22, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
