KNIGHTLINE SHOCKS CREEKSIDE

STRUTHERS OH- Monday night Knightline upset the 2nd place Creekside team 6-2. Knightline exploded for five runs in the 4th inning. Before that outburst they were locked in a pitcher’s duel trailing 2-1. Knightline scored their 6 runs on 10 hits.

Leading the Knightline offense was Mason McCurdy who went 1-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Brett Bobin went 3-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI. Joe Roth also had multiple hits going 2-4 with a RBI.

Grant Voytovich had an impressive night in a losing effort. He went 3-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Noah Reims went 1-3 with a RBI.

Bobin got the huge victory on the bump for Knightline. He went the distance throwing 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 8 hits and striking out 6.

FALCONS SCRAPE PAST BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- One Run was enough for the Astro Falcons on Monday night as they just got by Ballistic 1-0. They avoided what would have been a big upset as Ballistic sits towards the bottom of the standings.

On a slow offensive night for both teams, Andrew Russel had the only RBI of the game. He went 1-2 with a walk. Ricky Havrilla had multiple hits going 2-3.

Koby Zupko had 2 of the 3 Ballistic hits going 2-3. The other hit came from Anthony Koulianos who went 1-3.

Nick Cosentino picked up the win on the mound. He went 3 innings and gave up 0 runs on 1 hit. Cal Bickerstaff finished the game going 4 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits striking out 7.

DURA EDGE LEAVE PROSPECTS SHIPWRECKED

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge scores all six of their runs in the 3rd and 4th innings in their Monday night win over Prospects 6-3. The Prospects trailed 6-1 and were able to manage two runs in the 7th to close the gap a bit, but that’s all Dura Edge pitching would give up.

Jake Bowen led Dura Edge’s offensive attack going 2-4 with 2 RBI. Braden Gebhardt went 1-2 with 2 RBI. Zack Leonard went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

On the Prospects side of things, Tito Multari went 1-1 with a RBI. Sean Helpy managed to go 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

Will Shaffer got the win on the mound for Dura Edge. He went 6 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits. He struck out 6.

NO MONDAY SLUMP FOR PROSPECTS OFFENSE

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects offense had no trouble grabbing ten runs on Monday in their 10-6 win over Knightline.  Prospects had a big six run inning in the 6th to answer Knightline’s own six run inning in the top half.

Clay Wiessen went 1-3 with 3 RBI for Prospects. Nick Osborne went 1-2 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and 2 RBI. Sean Helpy went 1-1 with 2 runs scored, 2 walks, and a RBI.

Knightline’s offense didn’t struggle, Vince Sciortino had a good night going 1-3 with 2 RBI. Brett Bobin went 1-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Gabe Faunda also collected a RBI and a run scored.

 

RUNS AT A PREMIUM IN CREEKSIDE VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- It was a straight up pitcher’s duel on Monday between Creekside and Dura Edge. The teams combined for five hits. Creekside was able to scratch across three runs to win 3-1. They held Dura Edge to 1 run on 1 hit.

David Duffalo was the offensive star on a slow night for Creekside. He went 2-3 with a RBI. Noah Wijnen-Riems went 1-3 with a RBI.

Eli Harpilini got the lone hit for Dura Edge going 1-2 with a run scored.

Ben Petske was stellar in his win on the bump. He went 5 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit. He struck out 10.

Andrew Allen pitched well in the loss for Dura Edge. He went 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits. He struck out a hitter.

WHITING GIVES BALLISTIC THE BLUES

STRUTHERS OH- Whiting Roll-Offs scored three runs right off the bat on Monday. Three runs were all they would need as their pitching held Ballistic Baseball to 2 runs. They got themselves out of a lot of trouble, as Ballistic had 10 hits on the night.

For Whiting’s offense, Chase Tomko went 1-2 with a walk and a RBI. Ethan Bintrim mirrored those numbers going 1-2 with a walk and a RBI. Brandon Hink went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and a RBI.

Dustin Horn has a perfect day at the plate for Ballistic. He went 3-3 with 2 runs scored. Patrick Copple went 2-3. Koby Zupko collected the lone RBI for Ballistic.

Jake Vitale got the win for Whiting on the mound. He went 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 8 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 1.

ASTRO LEAD HOLDS AGAINST ROTH

STRUTHERS, OH- The Astro Falcons used timely hitting and pitching to defeat Roth Brothers 7-3 Monday evening in 18u action.

Andrew Russell picked up the win for Astro, tossing 3 1/3 innings of shutout baseball, giving up just two hits while striking out five and walking two.

AJ Arp took the loss for Roth, yielding five runs in just three innings of work.

Dom Pieto hit a double and drove in three runs for Astro in the win.  JJ Wetherholt and Matt Shepard each had a hit and scored twice while Aiden Shepard and Dom Pilolli both slugged a triple and touched home in the game.

Cam Holloaugh went 2-3 with an RBI leading the offense for Roth Brothers.*

BALLISTIC HEATING UP IN B LEAGUE

STRUTHERS, OH- Ballistic Baseball scored innings two through six as they went on to defeat Whiting Roll-Offs 11-6 Monday evening.

Isaac Schleich earned the win for Ballistic, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits in over five innings pitched while striking out six and walking only one.

Logan Exler took the loss for Whiting, giving up eight runs in over four innings of work.  Justin Fell led all hitters in the game with four hits and two runs scored.

Koby Zupko had three hits, two RBI and a run scored.  Patrick Copple had a pair of hits, a run scored, and three RBI while Dustin Horn slugged two hits and drove in two runs.  Anthony Koulianos hit a two-run double in the win for Ballistic.

Cre Calabria had two hits, a run, and an RBI in the game for Whiting.  Ethan Bintrim contributed two hits and also scored a run in the contest.

EAGLE WEAR TOAST AVALANCHE

STRUTHERS, OH- Eagle Wear soared to a 10-0 victory over Avalanche Monday evening at Bob Cene Park.

Jimmy Whippo recorded the win for Eagle Wear, scattering four hits over six shutout innings while striking out four and walking two.

John King suffered the loss for Avalanche, surrendering five runs on seven hits in five innings pitched.

Brett Palmer led the way for Eagle Wear with three hits and two runs scored.  Ricky Enlow had two hits, two runs scored and three RBI while Christian Zilli had a pair of hits and scored three times in the win.  Walter Sweeney added two hits and a run scored to the cause.

Conner Evans had two hits in the game for Avalanche.

DURA EDGE SCORES LAST IN SHOOTOUT

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge got the last laugh on Sunday as a escaped a slugfest with Ballistic Baseball. Dura Edge scores twice in the bottom of the seventh to steal a 10-9 win.

Zack Leonard went 1-3 with a walk, a run scored, and 3 RBI in an impressive day at the plate. Braden Gebhardt went 2-3 with 2 RBI. Vince Armeni went 1-1 with 3 walks and 3 runs scored.

For Ballistic, Tanner Egli went 2-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Griffin Widrig went 1-4 with 2 RBI. Anthony Koulianos went 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI.
