LAMPARTY COMMITS TO SHAWNEE STATE

CANFIELD OH- For three years South Range Basketball fans have been watching Izzy Lamparty shine on the court. Turns out, college coaches have been keeping an eye on her too. Particularly coach Jeff Nickel from Shawnee State. They recruited a couple of seniors during Izzy’s freshman year, and have been keeping a watch of her ever since. Lamparty has verbally committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Shawnee State.

In her junior season, Izzy averaged 16.5 points per game. She nearly averaged a double double tallying 9.3 rebounds a game as well. Izzy scored her 1,000th career point on January 30th against Niles.

Anthony Hartwig caught up with Izzy to hear her thoughts on committing, and her goals for her senior season.

MR. SPORTS JOINS YSN LINEUP THIS MARCH

EAST PALESTINE, OH- “The sports game was changed in 2017, but now the vision is coming to fruition.” says YSN Founder, DJ Yokley.  “With Mr. Sports, we solidify a lineup of experience and passion for local sports here in The Yo.”

John Batcho has signed on with the Your Sports Network Team to be on-air talent, as well as working a bit behind the scenes at HQ.  Batcho brings 34 years of broadcasting experience to the sports streaming company and looks to rejuvenate his passion back into the digital airwaves.  “I’ve been watching the growth of YSN over the last couple of years, and after having the opportunity to sit and chat with the team and realize his vision, it was clear to me that this is an organization that I needed to be part of.”

Mr. Sports will host a talk-show on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays beginning March 2, on YSNLive.com.  Batcho will have the 3-6 slot to begin the week and falls into the 12-3 spot on Tuesday and Thursday to supplement the mid-day with Ron Potesta throughout the week.

“You’re going to get a reinvigorated version of the Mr. Sports that you’ve come to know and love over the last 3 decades.  I’m ready to challenge myself, and our demographic to think outside the box.”

YSN ADDS “THORNY” AS BRAND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

EAST PALESTINE, OH- Your Sports Network is having a big week with announcements as they add another utility player to their roster.  Longtime sports advocate and enthusiast, Tod Thorne has been brought on to be the Brand Development Director for YSN.

Thorne has served in roles on the radio, on the field, and on the sideline for over 3 decades in the Mahoning Valley.  “Thorny has been a voice and an advocate for student-athletes for a long time.  That’s what we’re all about, and he a parallels each and every one of our pillars we stand for: Loyal, Local, and Live,” says YSN CEO DJ Yokley.  “He’s a selfless team leader who’s looking to change our coverage for the better,” Yokley added.

“I see this as an opportunity to start from the ground floor and work our way to the top.  I believe that this valley is all about loyalty, and YSN serves as the future of that in the region, state, and someday at the national level,” said Thorne.

YSN General Manager Steve Leslie also added remarks about the addition “We are very excited to bring Thorny along, and we feel as if he’ll take us over the top and help us to continue to promote our partners.”

Duties will include partnering with schools, youth organizations, as well as sponsorships and advertisements for The Network.

YSN ADDS POTESTA TO SPRING LINEUP

EAST PALESTINE, OH- Veteran broadcasting voice in The Valley, Ron Potesta will have a new home for his opinions and golden baseball calls.  Your Sports Network announced the blockbuster acquisition on Friday at 1 pm on social media.

“I’ve been a fan of Ron’s work for a long time, and the things kind of lined up to where he was a free agent and we’re looking to continue to change the game for our audience.  We believe this suits both sides,” said YSN CEO and Founder, DJ Yokley.

Potesta spent 12 years in minor league baseball prior to his return on-air in the valley.  “I am beyond excited to forge what I believe is going to be an incredible relationship with YSN,”  said Potesta.  “It’s an exciting day to add Ron and his local sports knowledge to what we all believe in.  Loyal, Local, Live is what we stand for, and we will continue to grow.  We hope fans will continue to support us, and enjoy all Ron brings to The Network.”

The grizzled veteran will launch a show called “Running Point” which will air March 2nd on YSNLive.com, as well as be a play-by-play voice for Youngstown State University home games this spring.

“This is a big move for us, but as we always say…we’re just getting started.”
