BELL, STRANK ARE BIG DOGS OF THE YEAR ON THE DIAMOND

EAST PALESTINE, OH-  Some last pieces of hardware are to be handed out after great baseball and softball seasons respectively around the valley.  Two players who went out swinging and left their name in their respective school record books.

With the support of Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods, YSN is proud to announce the 2019 Baseball and Softball Big Dogs of the Valley.

Lisbon’s Logan Bell was chosen as First Team in Division IV and represented the Northeast in their selections.  Bell boasted a 7-2 record this season with a 0.91 ERA in just over 60 innings of work.  He also shattered Lisbon school records for strikeouts in a game (18) and in a season (131).  Bell’s numbers at the plate were just as impressive with a .506 batting average in 2019 which ties a school record as well.

Those numbers are no surprise when you take a look at the University of Akron recruit’s career marks for strikeouts (311) and ERA at 1.59.

Crestview’s Olivia Strank got it done in the field, and in the batter’s box in 2019.  The Lady Rebel Senior broke the record for singles in a season (37) and total hits in a campaign with 41.  Liv also carried a .398 average through the season with 10 stolen bases.  In the field, Strank had a .987 fielding percentage along with 47 putouts, and 31 assists while only committing a single error this season.

Congratulations to both student-athletes on outstanding seasons, and representing their families, schools, communities, and fans so well in 2019.  Best of luck in all their future endeavors.  We’re incredibly proud of your success, and for the opportunity to cover part of your journey.

YSN SIGNS ON AS TITLE SPONSOR OF 40TH PENN-OHIO GAME

EAST PALESTINE, OH- Your Sports Network has reached an agreement with executives for the Penn-Ohio All-Star Game that will make them the presenting sponsor for the 2019 grand exhibition held each summer.  This year’s game will be held at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on June 26 at 7PM.

The game was streamed on YSN last year when it was held at Salem High School.  “This is our second year of involvement with what we feel is one of the most prestigious all-star football games in the country.  We’re thrilled to be more involved this year, and hope that we can continue to progress the game with our service to make it an even better experience for the student-athletes,” said YSN Founder and CEO, DJ Yokley.  “We live in an area that is a hotbed of talent for athletics of all types, it’s an honor to provide coverage for those who want more than just a highlight,”  Yokley added.

2019 will mark the 40th year of the Penn-Ohio Game, and each year the goal of the associations behind the game is to award as many scholarships as possible to student-athletes from Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.  Over the years, the QCFCA has awarded over $183,000 in scholarships from game proceeds to Ohio student-athletes.  In order to continue the area’s finest all-star game and provide continued scholarship opportunities to local athletes, local sponsorship is needed for the game.

“It’s such a great game and a great cause.  We hope this will be the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship with YSN.” said Penn-Ohio Football Classic President Tony Foster.

YSN will feature a live audio broadcast for the game and will have a tape-delayed presentation later that evening via their website and Facebook Live.
