SOUTH RANGE VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH TJ IRONS

CANFIELD OH- South Range has definitely had an up and down season. They have show perseverance through the tough times to not let things spiral out of control. That is a testament to the leadership of the team. They have finished the season rolling on all cylinders and they carried that momentum in to round 1 of the Division III Medina district.  The Raiders opened their run on the road against Columbiana. They shocked the Clippers in an upset victory to advance to the sectional final. The Raiders will play LaBrae on Thursday at Mentor Lake Catholic.

Head coach TJ Irons is back on the sidelines and couldn’t be happier to be with the team. He took the time to talk to YSN’s Anthony Hartwig about the big tournament win, what lies ahead for the Raiders, and much more. CRESTVIEW VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH ALISHA AUER

COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview didn’t miss a beat this season. Coming off a season where they were one of the most dominant programs around, they continued to roll in 2022. The Rebels finished with a 20-2 record on the year, and completed yet another MVAC championship.  They didn’t lose a set inside of the conference.  They lost 2 of their last 4 games though, raising some eye brows. But coach Auer didn’t panic, and neither did her team. They went right back to practice and are ready for a big tournament run.  Crestview will play Waterloo in the sectional final on Thursday at 6:00.

CAMPBELL VOLLEYBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH TYLER ALLEN

CAMPBELL OH- It has been a productive regular season for the Campbell Red Devils volleyball team. This is not the team of the past years.  Last year they won their first tournament game in program history, and they’ve used that momentum to build in 2022 to a 14 win season.  Now they head in to tournament time playing a familiar opponent. The Devils are squared up with United who they knocked out of last year’s tournament.  The Eagles and Devils matchup on Wednesday at Garrettsville Garfield.

AUSTINTOWN FITCH FALCONS FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER WITH MIKE POLDER

AUSTINTOWN, OH – It’s Week 10 of the 2022 high school football season, and the Austintown Fitch Falcons are coming into this week off a hard-fought 42-20 victory over Boardman a week ago. This week is a very familiar opponent for the Falcons in the Warren G. Harding Raiders. Fitch has faced Harding four times in the last two years, with each season featuring a regular season meeting and then one in the playoffs. The Raiders boast a 2-7 record this season, but the Falcons understand that this will be no easy game to close out the regular season.

Special Teams Coordinator Mike Polder joined us this week at Sam’s Wedge Inn to discuss this week’s matchup with Harding, last week’s victory over Boardman, and more!

URSULINE IRISH FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 9) WITH DAN REARDON

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Week 10 is upon us in the 2022 high school football season, and that only means one thing…it is time for the Holy War. Ursuline and Mooney will face off Friday night at Stambaugh Stadium for the 69 th time with Mooney leading the all-time series 42-23-3. This rivalry is one of the most well-known in the state, as there is so much history for both programs as they have won a combined 12 state titles in football. The Irish have had the upper hand as of late, winning the last three matchups between the two bitter rivals, including last year’s 43-12 victory en route to a state championship game appearance.

URSULINE IRISH DUAL COACH’S CORNER WITH LIZ AND RYAN KELLY

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Friday nights in Northeast Ohio mean a lot to communities for a lot of different reasons, but the football teams get most of the shine. The Ursuline Irish cheerleaders have become just as big of a part of Friday nights as the football team itself, and Cheerleading advisor Liz Kelly has done a phenomenal job leading the way for this squad.

The Ursuline Football team has been known for much of this season with how explosive of an offense they have, but the defense for this year’s team has been equally as impressive. The Irish come into this week’s matchup with rival Cardinal Mooney after giving up a combined eight points in their last two matchups against VASJ and Youngstown East combined. Defensive Coordinator, Ryan Kelly, an Ursuline Football alum, knows just how important this week’s matchup with Cardinal Mooney is.

LOWELLVILLE ROCKETS COACH’S CORNER: (EP. 2) WITH ANDREW MAMULA

LOWELLVILLE, OH- The Rockets Head Football Coach Andrew Mamula sat down at The Station Grille at Melillo’s to talk about the 2022 campaign. Coach Mamula is a graduate of Lowellville High School and was apart of some of the best Rockets teams as a graduate of the 2003 class. This is the best Rockets team under coach Mamula, as the Rockets are undefeated with a 9-0 record after beating Mineral Ridge on the road last Friday. Lowellville is currently the number two ranked team in division seven, region 25 and will look to stay unbeaten this Friday as they host Western Reserve. CHANEY COWBOYS FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP. 8) WITH SETH ANTRAM

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Head coach Seth Antram and the Chaney Cowboys showed up and took care of business in week eight against a talented Howland team. The Cowboys settled in offensively right out of the gates and never looked back as they won 42-0 last Friday night. With the victory, they remain at #4 in the Region 9 projections on joeeitel.com. Up next for the ‘Boys (7-1), will be a tough home test as they will welcome in a sneaky good Warren G. Harding Raiders team (2-6) on Friday night.
