COLUMBIANA OH- In a thrilling girls’ soccer clash, Columbiana showcased their offensive prowess and secured a convincing 6-2 victory over Brookfield. The match was a testament to Columbiana’s attacking excellence and determination on the field.

Columbiana had a trio of talented scorers leading the charge. Adalyn Quigley, Camille Jeffries, and Annah Clemmer each contributed two goals, making a significant impact on their team’s success. Their ability to find the back of the net consistently kept the pressure on Brookfield throughout the match.

Brookfield’s goalkeeper, Jasmine Hubbard, deserves special recognition for her remarkable performance. She made an astonishing 26 saves, demonstrating her skill and determination to keep her team in the contest. Her efforts between the posts showcased her resilience in the face of a relentless offensive onslaught from Columbiana.

WARRIORS SCORE AT WILL

BELOIT OH- The girls soccer team shut out Minerva today 11-0 in its EBC opener.  Overall, the team is 5-0-2 and 1-0-0 in the EBC.

Zoe Sanders made three saves to earn the shutout.  It is her 19th career shutout which ties a school record owned by Rachel Kocher Basalla who accomplished the feat from 1998-2001.

Leading the Warriors with four goals tonight was Chloe Dennison.  With her four goals, Dennison now has nine goals in her last two games.  Last week she scored five against Ursuline which tied a single game record held with Cheryl Davies Ficco and Laura Bandy Beach who each scored five goals in a game in 1999.

Sophia Gregory and Caidee Schroeder each scored a pair of goals for the Warriors.  Kennedy Berger, Presley Egli, and Ashley Rinehart finished the scoring for the winners.

Recording five assists tonight, which is a new school record, was Bri Thomas.  The previous record of four was held by Vana Morgan set in 2002.

Sam Koneval, Rinehart, Berger, Dennison, and Gregory also each added an assist for West Branch.

The Warriors next match will be on Saturday against Chagrin Falls.  The varsity game is scheduled to start at 1 PM.

SPRINGFIELD WINS CLASH OF THE TIGERS

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- In a girls’ soccer showdown, Springfield displayed their dominance on the field, securing an emphatic 8-0 victory over Newton Falls. The match showcased Springfield’s offensive firepower and defensive prowess, leaving no doubt about their command of the game.

Springfield’s offensive arsenal was in full swing, with eight different players finding the back of the net. Maddie Page and Sami Shafer led the charge with two goals each, demonstrating their scoring prowess. Emma Sanders, Ava Vecchione, Kristina Vecchione, and Cara Castor each contributed a goal, with Castor notably celebrating her first varsity goal—a memorable moment in her soccer journey.

Assists were generously distributed among Springfield’s players, highlighting their cohesive play. Maddie Paige led the way with two assists, while Ava Cecchione, Kendall Maughan, and Ally Guerriero each provided valuable assists to set up their teammates’ goals.

As a senior captain and one of eleven accomplished seniors on the team, Bri has been instrumental in West Branch’s remarkable nine-year reign as Eastern Buckeye Conference (EBC) champions. In the previous season, West Branch boasted an impressive 15-1-3 record, with Bri Thomas emerging as a linchpin of their success. YOUNGSTOWN OH- Canfield’s girls’ soccer team continued their impressive season with a resounding 8-1 victory over Cardinal Mooney, extending their unbeaten streak to 5-0-0. Canfield’s offensive firepower was on full display, with goals coming from multiple players. Maci Toporcer led the charge with an incredible 4 goals, showcasing her scoring prowess. Lorieona Jannone, Vivian Nohra, Hanna Wahib, and Gianna Marino each contributed a goal, emphasizing the team’s depth and versatility.

CANFIELD LETS LOOSE ON THE QUAKERS

CANFIELD OH- In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Canfield girls’ soccer team continued their winning streak, advancing to 4-0-0 with a resounding 4-1 victory over Salem.

Maci Toporcer shone brightly, netting a remarkable hat-trick, while Lorieona Jannone contributed a goal of her own. The Canfield players showcased their excellent cohesion, with Lexi Toporcer and Vivian Nohra providing crucial assists that facilitated the scoring. Despite their efforts,

Salem managed to find the back of the net through Rylee Hutton’s goal. Canfield’s defensive prowess was highlighted by goalie Lolo Padgett, who made a vital save to maintain their lead. Salem’s goalkeeper, Kaylee Carlisle, put up a valiant effort, making 11 saves throughout the match.

The statistics revealed Canfield’s dominance, as they outshot Salem by an impressive margin of 21 to 2. This victory was a testament to Canfield’s skill, teamwork, and determination on the field.

WARRIORS DODGE RAIN DROPS TO TROUNCE IRISH

BELOIT OH- On a cool, wet, and dreary night in Beloit, the West Branch girls soccer team exploded for seven second half goals en route to a 9-0 win over the visiting Ursuline Irish to stay perfect on the season.  The Warriors are now 4-0-2.

The two teams battled for much of the first half as the Warriors only led by a 2-0 margin at halftime.  An early goal in the second half helped lead the way for the flood gates to open as the Warriors continued to build its lead and ultimately handily defeating the Irish.

Chloe Dennison led the way with five goals for the Warriors.  Sophia Gregory also added a hat trick with three goals of her own.  Aubrianna Thomas would round out the goals scored for the winners.

In addition to her three goals, Gregory also had three assists on the night.  Kennedy Berger added two assists and Allie Brammer, Samantha Koneval and Dennison each had one.

In goal Audrey Eaton had two saves and Zoe Sanders finished the day with one save.

The Warriors next game will be in a week as Minerva will visit in each teams opening EBC match.

REBELS OFFENSE RELENTLESS IN BROOKFIELD

BROOKFIELD OH- In a lopsided match, Crestview’s girls’ soccer team secured an impressive 6-0 victory over Brookfield. The scoreboard reflected Crestview’s dominance, as they maintained control throughout the game.

Kerrigan Miller led the goal-scoring charge with 2 goals to her name. Bailey Wonner, Sydney Wellman, and Brianna DiCross each contributed a goal, while Brianna DiCross netted an additional goal to round off the tally. Despite the pressure from Crestview,

Brookfield’s goalkeeper Jasmine Hubbard demonstrated remarkable skills by making a total of 10 saves.

With this convincing win under their belt, Crestview looks ahead to their next challenge as they prepare to host Garfield on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Brookfield, eager for their first victory, will be striving to turn their fortunes around as they face Waterloo on the same day.

TIGERS TAKE DOWN REIGNING MVAC CHAMPIONS

NEW MIDDKETOWN OH- The girls soccer rivalry between Waterloo and Springfield has picked up serious steam over the years. The two teams have been consistently fighting over the top spot in the MVSC for years. For a long time the spot belonged to Springfield, but last season the Vikings finally took their seat at the top. The Tigers took a big step in reclaiming their throne on Monday as they took down Waterloo 2-1.

Springfield’s offense was all about Ava Vecchione who delivered with a pair of goals.  Macey Isaacson and Maddie Page both helped out with assists on the night.  Emma Mills had 8 saves in the Tigers defense, Ally Guerriero added a pair.

Waterloo’s lone goal came from Olivia Boyle.  Sophia Wood had 4 saves in the goal for the Vikings.

Springfield has a big matchup inside the MVAC on tap as they travel to 4-0 Champion on Wednesday. Waterloo will try to bounce back Wednesday hosting Brookfield.

CAMDEN SAMPSON; DEFENSIVE DYNAMO

SALEM OH- Salem High School’s senior soccer standout, Camden Sampson, holds a pivotal role as a captain and versatile player on the field. Operating in the midfield and defender positions, Sampson’s impact is felt throughout the team’s dynamics and performance.
