CHAMPION CLINGS ON TO VICTORY

CANTON OH- Champion got out to a five-run lead in the fourth inning and narrowly held on for a 5-4 victory over Marlington on Saturday.

Abigail Meadors was the winning pitcher for Champion. The hurler allowed six hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Gabrielle Gradishar threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Gradishar recorded the last ten outs to earn the save.

Champion tallied nine hits. Gradishar and Olivia Gray all had multiple hits. Gradishar led Champion with three hits in three at bats.
