CHAMPION ESCAPES A CLOSE ONE WITH THE RED DEVILS

CAMPBELL OH- Both teams were strong on the mound Tuesday, but Champion defeated Campbell 3-2. Champion pitchers allowed just five hits to the Devils.

The Flashes pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Charles Quinby drew a walk, scoring one run.

Brett Channell took the win for Champion. The fireballer went two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out three. Nate Holt threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Zack Luciano took the loss for Campbell. The hurler went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out 11.

Jack O’Shaughnessy started the game for Champion. The bulldog surrendered two runs on four hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out eight

Tyler Skaggs went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Champion in hits. The Flashes were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Skaggs had the most chances in the field with 14.

Duan Reynolds led the Devils with two hits in four at bats.
