CHAMPION FLASHES THEIR POWER IN ROUT OF TIGERS

Adam Fisher would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Thursday, driving in eight on three hits to lead Champion past Newton Falls 19-1 on Thursday. Fisher drove in runs on a home run in the first, a home run in the second, a home run in the third, and a walk in the fourth.

Champion opened up scoring in the first inning. They scored one run when Jack O’Shaughnessy singled.

The Flashes notched eight runs in the fourth inning. The offense in the inning was led by Zachary Bickel, O’Shaughnessy, Aaron Ellsworth, Fisher, Tyler Skaggs, and Collin Brainard, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Nathan Holt was the winning pitcher for Champion. The righty lasted five innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out four and walking zero.

Champion tallied three home run on the day. Fisher went for the long ball in the first, second, and third innings.

The Flashes totaled 15 hits. Fisher, Bickel, Ellsworth, and O’Shaughnessy each collected multiple hits. Ellsworth, Bickel, and Fisher each managed three hits to lead.
