CHANEY BREAKS THROUGH TO NEXT ROUND

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Four Chaney Cowboys would reach double figures in their opening round victory over the Kenston Bombers.

In a battle of David (2-20 Kenston) and Goliath (back-to-back-to-back district champion Chaney)the Kenston Bombers came out swinging in the first half. The Bombers would hold a few leads over the Cowboys and were able to keep the game within two possessions for the majority of the half. Chaney, however, would close strongly into the break, taking with them a double-digit lead.

The Cowboys surged to start the second half to lead by as many as sixteen. Five different Cowboys would score in the third, but a strong finish to the quarter would see Kenston trail by fourteen.

Kenston would run out of steam in the fourth unable to keep up with the potent Cowboy offense. Chaney would outscore the Bombers 15-9 in the final period, and again the Cowboys would see five different scorers to walk away with the victory, 68-48.
