CLIPPEES ARE THE ONES THAT LAST OVER EVERGREEN

Columbiana grabbed an early lead on its way to an 8-2 victory over Evergreen on Saturday as part of the Prebis Memorial.

Columbiana scored on a single by Caitlynn Pleska in the first inning, a single by Mackenzi Gamble in the first inning, a single by Alaina Johnston in the first inning, a groundout by Maria Malcolmsom in the first inning, and a home run by Pleska in the second inning.

Gamble earned the win for Columbiana. The pitcher allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Pleska threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Evy Shrader was in the circle for the Vikings. The pitcher went one inning, allowing four runs on six hits and walking zero. Kira Keller threw five innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Clippers smacked one home run on the day. Pleska put one out in the second inning.

Columbiana tallied ten hits in the game. Gabriella Spooner, Johnston, and Pleska each racked up multiple hits. Pleska, Johnston, and Spooner each managed two hits to lead the way.

Macy Chamberlin led Evergreen with two hits in three at bats.
