CLIPPERS CLINCH OUTRIGHT EOAC CHAMPIONSHIP

COLUMBIANA OH- The Columbiana Clippers beat United 4-2 on Monday in a continuation of a game delayed earlier this season. The win gave them the outright EOAC championship.

In the first inning, the Clippers got their offense started when Tori Long singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Long was credited with the victory for the Clippers. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out 16.

Tori Firth took the loss for United. She allowed six hits and four runs over six innings, striking out eight.

Columbiana tallied six hits. Long and Maryn Hepler all managed multiple hits. Hepler and Long each collected two hits to lead. The Clippers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Audrey Smith made the most plays with 15.
