CLIPPERS COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AT PNC

PITTSBURGH, PA- The Columbiana Clippers lost the lead late in a 9-2 defeat to Ringgold on Friday. The game was tied at two with Ringgold batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for Ringgold, and as the rain picked up in America’s greatest ballpark, so did the Rams scoring.

Ringgold fired up the offense in the first inning. Hunter Mamie hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

Gianni Cantini got the win for Ringgold. The fireballer allowed one hit and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero. Eli Calloway threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Logan Hoschar took the loss for Columbiana. “The Hammer” allowed four hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Riley McElwain started the game for the Clippers. The lefthander went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out seven and walking zero Gage Fuller started the game for Ringgold. The pitcher went four and a third innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one

Seth SpoonerTrevor DearingCameron SloanDaniel WilczakMcElwainTyler Andersen, and Joey Wilczak all had one hit to lead Columbiana.

Hunter Mamie went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Ringgold in hits.
