CLIPPERS CRUISE OVER TORONTO

Toronto, Ohio (YSN) – Columbiana had a full throttle down on offense and a very solid game plan on defense to defeat Toronto Red Knights 42-7 on Friday, powered by Chase Franken’s 3 touchdowns (2 receiving, 1 rush).
Joe Bable busted out a 35-yard run by weaving in and out of the Red Knight defense. Columbiana quarterback, Jakob Cross added 3 passing touchdowns, including a 60-yard, frozen rope pass to WR Franken.
Steve Anderson had a strong goaline rush from 1-yard out to complete the offensive breakout game. Kicker J. Bryarly added 6 for 6 extra points, in which the team knows how crucial the kicking game can determine any portion of high school football in the area.
At the start of the game, the weather broke for what could have been a downpour for Toronto’s homecoming weekend. Although, Columbiana brought the rain and before you knew it, the score was 35-7 at halftime.
Toronto’s added a 1-yard QB keeper up the middle by Karaffa to add their only score. The passing game was limited, as Karaffa and his receivers had miscommunications all evening. It just seemed as if he was rushed and couldn’t set his feet in time to make game time throws that he normally makes in practice.
Columbiana is back home against Wellsville, as YSN will call the game for the Clippers.
