CLIPPERS GAIN MORE ALTITUDE

COLUMBIANA OH-  Caitlynn Pleska threw a gem on Monday for the Clippers, allowing zero runs and besting East Palestine by a score of 12-0

Pleska led the Clippers to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. She drove in runs on a home run in the first, a single in the second, and a fielder’s choice in the fifth.

Columbiana fired up the offense in the first inning, when Tori Long homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

The Clippers put up three runs in the fifth inning. Their offense in the inning was led by Pleska, Alivia Bell, and Chloe Gill, all driving in runs.

One bright spot for East Palestine was a single by Giavonna Brestelli in the first inning.

Pleska got the win for the Clippers. The righty surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out ten.

Gabby Andre took the loss for East Palestine. Andre lasted five innings, allowing 16 hits and 12 runs while striking out two.

The Clippers launched two home runs on the day. Long went for the long ball in the first inning. Pleska also had a dinger in the first inning.

Columbiana tallied 16 hits. Pleska, Cameron Perkins, Long, Julia Rapp, and Ava Davanzo each collected multiple hits for Clippers. Pleska led with three hits in four at bats.

Columbiana was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Audrey Smith had the most chances in the field with seven.
