CLIPPERS STILL PERFECT IN EOAC

LISBON, OHIO- The Lisbon Blue Devils fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 15-5 loss to Columbiana on Monday.

Columbiana scored on a fielder’s choice by Less in the first inning, a double by Alex Eusebio in the second inning, and a single by Devin Daugherty in the second inning.

The Blue Devils struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Columbiana, giving up 15 runs as the Clippers got their offense started when Ashton Pitts induced Ian Less to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

The Clippers then finished off the game by scoring five runs in the seventh inning as Cameron Clancy, Blake Nusser, Bayden Pipoly, and Eusebio each drove in runs during the inning.

Anthony Hall got the start for Columbiana as the fireballer surrendered four runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out nine and walking one.

Pitts was on the pitcher’s mound for the Blue Devils as he went one inning, allowing one run on zero hits and striking out one.  Noah Minor, Gage Owens, and Haiden Colvin each contributed in relief.

Lisbon and Columbiana will take on each other once again on Wednesday.
