CLIPPERS TURN ON THE JETS TO GET PAST SOUTHERN

Columbiana defeated Southern 6-2 on Wednesday.

Columbiana fired up the offense in the first inning, when Brady Dixon grounded out, scoring one run.

Devin Daugherty was the winning pitcher for the Clippers. The fireballer allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Seth Spooner and Riley McElwain entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Columbiana smacked one home run on the day. Spooner went yard in the first inning.

The Clippers totaled seven hits in the game. Zachary Pleska and Bayden Pipoly all collected multiple hits. Pleska led with three hits in three at bats.
