CLIPPERS WIN A PITCHER’S DUEL IN BATTLE FOR TOP SPOT

COLUMBIANA OH- Alex Eusebio threw a gem on Tuesday for Columbiana, allowing zero runs and besting United by a score of 1-0

The pitching was strong on both sides. Eusebio struck out ten, while Trent Newburn sat down nine.

The Clippers got on the board in the first inning when Colin Keleman singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for the Eagles was a single by Newburn in the fourth inning.

Eusebio got the win for Columbiana. Eusebio lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out ten.

Newburn took the loss for United. Newburn allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine.

Ian Less, Bayden Pipoly, Devin Daugherty, and Keleman each collected one hit to lead the Clippers offense.

Newburn led United with two hits in three at bats. The Eagles didn’t commit a single error in the field. Parker Newburn had the most chances in the field with 11.
