COLLINS KNOCKS OUT 100 CAREER HITS
PERRY OH- Sydney Collins came up clutch and then some Thursday night, blasting a three-run bomb and driving in four as Perry rolled past Jefferson 12-6.
The Falcons got on the board first with an RBI groundout in the top of the first, but Perry didn’t waste time firing back. Collins ripped a two-run single to spark a four-run inning, helped by an error and a fielder’s choice that brought in another.
In the second, Perry blew it open. Elise Strahan dropped in an RBI double, and then Collins turned on one and sent it over the center field fence for a three-run shot that lit up the dugout and pushed the lead to 8-2. Sophie Sivon made it 9-3 in the third with a steal of home that caught everyone off guard.
Morgan Winters handled the work in the circle, grinding through seven innings while scattering 10 hits and striking out nine. Jefferson kept the bats alive, but Winters limited the damage and never let the Falcons string too much together.
Strahan, Madeline Infalvi, and Collins all had multi-hit nights. The Pirates were locked in at the plate with eight walks, and Infalfi and Collins each picked up two of those. They were aggressive on the bases, swiping four bags to keep the pressure on.
Jefferson racked up 10 hits of their own, with Rylee Demattia leading the way—2-for-4 with three RBIs. Alaina Barresss and Julia Spragur also added two hits apiece, and the Falcons matched Perry with four stolen bases. Next up for the Pirates: a Friday clash with Wickliffe as they look to keep swinging hot.
