CRESTVIEW EDGES G-MEN FOR SECOND STRAIGHT NIGHT

GARRETTSVILLE OH-  Garfield was neck and neck with Crestview all game long, but the Rebels came through with a clutch hit in the seventh to steal a 3-2 win on Wednesday.

It was a tight one from the jump, with both teams getting strong outings on the mound. Crestview’s arm went the distance, scattering four hits and striking out six. Garfield’s Garet Warnick was just as sharp—seven innings, five hits, no earned runs, and eight punchouts—but a couple defensive miscues came back to bite.

Crestview cracked the scoreboard first in the fifth, cashing in on an error. Garfield answered in the sixth, putting together a rally with a pair of singles, and tying things up 2-2 on a clutch RBI knock by Aidan Hill.

But in the top of the seventh, Crestview broke the deadlock with a base hit that brought in the go-ahead run, and that was all she wrote.

Garfield spread the offense out with four players each logging a hit, and Bogucki and Hill picked up the team’s two RBIs.

Crestview made the most of their chances on the bases, swiping four bags and flashing some leather with a double play and zero errors on the night.

Next up, Crestview heads home to host Beaver Local on Thursday, while Garfield hits the road to take on Champion on Friday.
