CRESTVIEW GIRLS BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW (WITH AARON BLATCH)

COLUMBIANA, OH- Crestview is so close to a district championship, they can smell it. After defeating conference rival Liberty in the semifinals, the South Range Raiders are the only thing standing between the Rebels and the first championship for the program in 13 seasons.

Crestview is coming in with monumental energy after their last win. At the beginning of the season, one of the team goals set by the players was to “beat Liberty.” Before Wednesday night Crestview had lost five in a row to the Leopards including a couple of heartbreaking endings. But in the tournament, the Rebels looked like a different team. They limited turnovers, and held the Leopards to a lot of one and done possessions. Simply put they were undeniably the better team that night. That’s all it takes in the tournament, to be better for one night.

Now the Rebels turn their attention to second-seeded South Range who is coming off a dominating 58-28 win over Columbiana. The Raiders pose many challenges for the Rebels, but coach Blatch sees a lot of positive adjustments from his team in the last couple weeks of the season. They’re hoping they can gather up some more magic to pull off another upset and earn a trip to Cuyahoga Falls. YSN has you covered with a special championship preview with Rebel head coach Aaron Blatch. He and Anthony Hartwig talk about what the Win Over Liberty meant for the team, preparing for South Range, and more.
