CRESTVIEW UPENDS VIKINGS CONFERENCE WIN STREAK
Crestview came to play—and punched their way past LaBrae with a 6-3 win Thursday night, rallying from an early deficit and locking things down late.
LaBrae drew first blood in the second inning when Ethan Magoulick came through with an RBI single. A dropped third strike helped them tack on another in the third to make it 2-0, but Crestview didn’t flinch.
The Rebels roared back in the bottom half. Zachary Davis cashed in with a groundout that brought in two, and Kyle Booth followed it up with a knock to give Crestview the 3-2 lead. LaBrae knotted things up again in the fourth after Austin Rowe roped a single to center, but that tie didn’t last long.
In the fifth, the Rebels took control for good. Davis struck again with a shot down the line, Jayden Kimble grounded out to plate another, and Braden Devine capped the frame with a clutch RBI single to center to make it 6-3.
Davis not only delivered at the plate but got the job done on the hill too. He tossed five innings, allowing five hits and three runs—only one earned—while fanning four and walking two. The defense had his back, and Crestview never gave LaBrae a chance to rally.
For LaBrae, Landon Brunstetter started on the bump and struck out four in 2.2 innings, but five walks and some timely Crestview swings got the better of him. Vince Delvecchio came on in relief and went 3.1 innings, giving up three runs on six hits.
Brunstetter was solid at the dish, picking up two hits and swiping a couple bags. Magoulick and Rowe each drove in a run, and Easton Armstrong added a pair of steals as well. LaBrae was aggressive on the bases, stealing six bags in total, and even turned a clean double play on defense.
Crestview was led at the plate by Davis, who drove in two, and Isaac Unkefer, who went 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot. Luke Julian showed patience, drawing three of Crestview’s six walks on the day.
Next up, LaBrae hits the road to face Garfield on Friday. Crestview, riding high, rolls into Beaver Local with momentum on their side.
