DAVIES CLEARS 100 IN URSULINE VICTORY

YOUNGSTOWN OH-  Ursuline made it loud and clear on Wednesday—they came to swing. Behind a monster day at the plate from Katie Koulianos and a milestone performance in the circle from Emma Davies, the Irish rolled past Mooney 14-2.

Koulianos couldn’t be stopped. She went 4-for-5 with five RBIs, including a missile to center for a two-run homer in the sixth. She doubled in the third to drive in a run, came through with a two-run single in the fifth, then hammered another double in the seventh to tack on two more. Just clutch all the way through.

And on the rubber? Emma Davies did her thing. The freshman punched out 14 and gave up just four hits and two runs across seven innings. Even better—strikeout No. 100 on the year came in this one, a huge milestone for a rookie who’s been dealing all season.

Ursuline got things started in the first with Davies tagging up for the game’s opening run. Mackenzie Smith and Isis MyLove added RBI knocks in the second, and the Irish kept stacking runs from there. Davies helped her own cause with a run-scoring single in the sixth before Koulianos blew it open with the homer.

The Irish piled up 16 hits, with Brooke Burton and Davies joining Koulianos in the multi-hit club. Lila Jones and Davies also caused havoc on the bases—each swiping a pair as Ursuline racked up six steals. Clean defense, too. Not a single error, and Smith handled 14 chances at first like a pro.

Mooney managed to plate a couple thanks to Giada Desantis and Gracie Rinaldi, but it wasn’t enough to slow down a red-hot Ursuline squad.
