DEVILS HAVE NO ANSWERS FOR CRESTVIEW

Carter Blakeman gave Memorial fits, as Blakeman bagged four hits in Crestview’s 19-4 victory on Saturday. Blakeman singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the seventh, and singled in the seventh.

Crestview  earned the victory despite allowing Memorial to score three runs in the fifth inning. Memorial offense in the inning was led by Zachary Luciano, Collin Michaels, and Harry Echevarria Jr., all knocking in runs.

Crestview got things started in the first inning. Keith Berger singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The Rebels put up seven runs in the seventh inning. Kyle Saunders, Sam Campbell, Ethan Feezle, Daniel Fitzgerald, Matthew Lindsay, and Blakeman each had RBIs in the big inning.

Eli Riffle earned the win for Crestview. Riffle surrendered two runs on three hits over four innings, striking out six. Saunders and Feezle entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Michaels took the loss for Memorial. The bulldog allowed eight hits and nine runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Crestview saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Blakeman, Connor Hughes, Lindsay, and Matthew Strank all had multiple hits. Blakeman led with four hits in six at bats.

James Shuger went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Memorial in hits.
