MINERVA, OH- Lisbon got out to a six-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 7-6 victory over Minerva on Saturday. The Lions tallied six runs in the failed comeback. Luke Kimble, Alex Kimble, Evan Hertle, Cole Maley, and Dom Slentz all picked up RBIs in the rally.
Lisbon got on the board in the first inning. Logan Bell tripled, driving in one run. The Blue Devils continued and tallied three runs in the second inning. Lisbon’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Nick Mundy and Garrett Cox and a double by Blake Reynolds.
Bell was credited with the victory for Lisbon. He surrendered zero runs on three hits over three innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Tyler Graham and Josh Entrikin entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Charlie Bolanz took the loss for Minerva. He went one and one-third innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out one.
Slentz led Minerva with two hits in four at-bats.
