DRAGONS SECURE FIRST HOME PLAYOFF WIN

NILES OH- It’s a long history of Niles football full of tons of talented players. However, Niles came in to Friday night still seeking their first win at home in the playoffs in the program’s history. Their opponent Ravenna put up a fight, but it was too much Dragons as they coasted to a 35-21 win.

Zack Leonard impresses as always with 17 carries for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns. Freshman Antuan Gardner also chipped in with 17 carries for 136 yards with a pair of house calls. Leonard also found the promise land through the air on a pass to Alleni Fryer. Leonard also contributed on defense collecting a key interception in the first quarter, and another one later in the game. He accounted for two of the three turnovers forced by the Dragons defense.

Niles first home playoff game also caps off an undefeated road schedule. The Dragons went 4-0 in the friendly confines of Bo Rein Stadium. The Dragons advance and will travel to Streetsboro in round 2 of the playoffs next Friday.
