DUKES SILENCE SALEM BATS

The Salem Lady Quakers welcomed undefeated EBC rival Marlington to town hoping to build off the momentum they gained after a close extra inning victory on Saturday.

Marlington quelled the Quaker momentum quickly en route to a 27-5 road victory. The Quaker bats picked right up early, Channing Toy led off with a triple coupled with a Dukes fielding error the Quakers raced out to an early 2-0 1st inning lead. Marlington answered with 8 runs in the top of the 2nd and never looked back.

The Quakers offensively were led by Rylie Troy going 2 for 3 and Mack Zumbar 1 for 3 including a double and 2 RBI.  Lauryn Barton also contributed a single, RBI, and 2 runs scored  in a losing effort.

Salem (2-3) looks to get back on track Wednesday hosting Akron Springfield.
