ROOTSTOWN, OHIO- A run here and a run there helped propel the Warren JFK Eagles to a big win over Rootstown on Monday, 9-3.

In what was a back and forth battle, the Eagles pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. Andrew Lapolla was the winning pitcher as he allowed seven hits and three runs over five innings, striking out one. Dominic Ryan threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Eagles totaled ten hits as Lapolla and Micheal Bartoe all had multiple hits as Bartoe and Lapolla all had three hits to lead the Eagles. Rootstown tallied nine hits as Blake Postlethwait, Joe Weaver, and Tony Karp all managed multiple hits for Rootstown.

Austin Biggin took the loss for Rootstown. Biggin surrendered four runs on two hits over four innings, striking out three. Rootstown and Warren JFK will take on each other again on Tuesday.
