STRUTHERS, OH- Eagle Wear was searching for it’s first win of the 2022 campaign in the 16U Youngstown Class B Baseball League. It was a tough test against the top seed, the Whiting Roll-Offs, but Eagle Wear prevailed in extras to erase the win-less streak.

Eagle Wear got the first lead of the ballgame with Ben Barnes scoring 1 run in the first. Later on in the fourth inning, Whiting countered with 3 runs scored on 3 consecutive errors by the Eagle Wear defense. Avery Maley started the rally with a single, followed by a double in the gap by Braeden Settnek. Eagle Wear led 4-3 heading into the final frame, until Joey Campoli led off the inning with a walk, and then Nathan Craig drove him in with an RBI single up the middle.

Maley drew a one out walk to get aboard, with Settnek moving him in scoring position with his second hit of the day.
