EAGLES GET BACK ON TRACK

CANTON OH-  Canton Central Catholic scored three runs in the seventh inning, but United Golden still won 8-3 on Thursday.

United got on the board in the first inning when Sammantha Lippiatt hit a solo homer.

The Eagles scored three runs in the fifth inning. Tori Firth and Mati Zines each had RBIs in the frame.

Firth was the winning pitcher for United. Firth lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out 11 and walking one.

United launched one home run on the day. Lippiatt had a dinger in the first inning.

The Eagles totaled 11 hits. Joshlynn Irey, Firth, and Zines all managed multiple hits. Irey led with three hits in four at bats.
