EAGLES GRASP A WIN IN THEIR TALONS

WELLSVILLE OH— Parker Newburn was locked in Thursday night, dominating on the bump and swinging a hot bat as United rolled past Wellsville 10-1.

Newburn was in full control, mowing down 17 Tigers in a complete game two-hitter. He gave up just one run and walked only one batter over seven innings. Pure command, pure filth.

He wasn’t just dealing—he was raking too. Newburn went 3-for-4 at the dish with two doubles and a single, spraying the ball all over the yard.

United came out swinging in the first. Newburn kicked things off with a base hit, Wyatt Swanson followed with a shot to center, and a Wellsville miscue opened the door for a four-run inning. Swanson later tagged and scored on a sac fly to help make it 4-0 out of the gate.

Cavan Jackson added to the lead in the second with an RBI single down the line, and United never looked back. They piled on 12 hits total and swiped 10 bags while playing clean in the field—no errors, just good baseball.

Newburn and Quentin Taylor both finished with three hits apiece. Jackson chipped in two of his own and helped lead the running game, along with Newburn and Taylor, each swiping multiple bases.

Wellsville managed just two hits and one run on the day and couldn’t build any momentum against Newburn’s dominance. United gets right back at it Friday with a road trip to Salem.
