EAGLES PITCHING SHINES YET AGAIN

HUBBARD OH-  Hubbard took care of business Friday night, blanking Madison 4-0 with a solid mix of early offense and lockdown pitching.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the board in the first. A fielder’s choice and a bases-loaded walk brought in two runs to give Hubbard an early edge. Then in the second, a solo shot to left added to the lead and gave the home crowd something to cheer about.

On the mound, Jonny Adamson was lights out. He tossed five innings of two-hit ball, fanning eight and walking just two to earn the win. The bullpen closed it down with Maddox Pieton and Matthew Bobovnik combining for two clean innings to seal the deal.

Hubbard’s bats stayed active throughout, racking up six hits. A few different guys chipped in RBIs, and Johnny Reyes led the way at the plate with a perfect 2-for-2 night.

Madison scattered a few hits and got a solid outing from their starter, who gave up just two earned runs over nearly six innings, but the offense couldn’t break through. Next up, Hubbard stays home for a Monday matchup against Struthers.
