EAGLES RUN RULE LEETONIA

HANOVERTON, OHIO- Jason Pratt didn’t allow a single run as the United Eagles defeated Leetonia 11-0 on Thursday.

The Eagles secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the second inning as Nevin Hahlen, Trent Newburn, Waden Kiko, and Grant Irwin each had RBIs in the big inning.

The Eagles totaled 13 hits as Newburn, Ryan Keir, Kiko, and Newburn all managed multiple hits.  Newburn led things at the plate going 3 for 4. The Eagles tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases with Brock Rhodes leading the way with three.

Pratt earned the win on the mound as the pitcher went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out nine and walking one.

Gabe Evans took the loss for Leetonia. The pitcher allowed 13 hits and 11 runs over four innings, striking out one.

United will return to play when they take on Minerva at home on Friday. Leetonia will travel to East on Monday.
