EAGLES SKY PAST GIRARD

GIRARD, OH-  The Girard Indians watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-3 loss to Hubbard on Wednesday. Hubbard scored on a single by Jimmy Palumbo in the first inning, a double by Hayden Fox in the second inning, a groundout by Jamie Thomson in the second inning, and a single by Evan Jarvis in the second inning.

The Indians struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Hubbard, giving up nine runs.  Girard knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Matt Miles singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring at-bat.

Hubbard pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Fox doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Thomson grounded out, scoring one run, and Jarvis singled on a 2-0 count, scoring a run.

Anthony Corrin was the winning pitcher for Hubbard. He surrendered three runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Dylan Durkos threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Braydon Freeland took the loss for Girard.  He surrendered eight runs on 11 hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one.

Girard tallied 12 hits. FreelandNick DeGregoryMiles, and Brady Hunkus all managed multiple hits for the IndiansDeGregory and Freeland each collected three hits to lead the Tribe.

Hubbard tallied 16 hits in the game. JarvisPalumboFoxAndrew Frank, and Sam Mauk each had multiple hits for Hubbard. Jarvis led Hubbard with four hits in four at bats.
