EAGLES TAKE CARE OF NILES

NILES, OHIO- The Hubbard Eagles swept the regular season series against Niles with a  6-2 win.

Hubbard  got things moving in the first inning as Andrew Kali grounded out, scoring one run. In the bottom of the first inning, Niles tied things up at one when Landon Turner singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. After Hubbard scored one run in the top of the seventh,

Niles answered with one of their own.  Hubbard scored again when Johnny Reyes’s sac fly scored one run then Hubbard pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Ryan Murray was hit by a pitch, driving in a run and Braydon Songer singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two more runs.

Kali took the win for Hubbard. The righthander surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out six.

Sam Perrone led things off on the hill for Niles as he surrendered six runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out eight.

Hubbard will look for their third win in a row when they take on Harding on Friday at 5:00pm. Niles will return to play on Thursday when they take on the visiting United Golden Eagles at 5:00pm.
