EAGLES UPSET BRISTOL EN ROUTE TO TITLE

ORWELL OH- Warren JFK earned their first trip to regionals since 2017 on Friday night with a 61-47 win over top seeded Bristol.

The Eagles flew out of the gates to a 22-2 lead at the end of frame one. They extended that lead to 35-10 with just over 2:00 left in the half. Bristol ended the half on a 11-0 run to close the gap to 35-21.

The Bristol rally didn’t end at half, they opened the third quarter on a 8-0 run to cut the lead to 35-29. It was a 19-0 run spanning two quarters. It seemed the tides had turned. Finally the Eagles stabilized and put together a 8-0 run to stretch their lead back to 43-31, and leading 43-33 after three. The closest the Eagles would let Bristol get in the fourth would be seven.

Cam Hollobaugh led the charge with a game-High 24. Sejjan Cuoto was also in double figures with 12.

The Eagles advance to the regional semifinals on Tuesday against Richmond Heights at the Canton Fieldhouse. Start time is set for 6:15.
