EAGLES WILL STAY AT HOME FOR DISTRICTS

HUBBARD OH-  Edgewood watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-3 loss to Hubbard on Thursday. Hubbard scored on a single by Gillian Ryser in the first inning, a single by Phoebe Rusnak in the first inning, a single by Lauren Komorek in the second inning, and a single by Grace Narkum in the second inning.

The Warriors struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Hubbard, giving up ten runs.

Hubbard got on the board in the first inning when Ryser singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Edgewood put up three runs in the third inning. They scored their runs on a home run by Sophia Paolillo.

Hubbard scored three runs in the fifth inning. Hubbard’s big inning was driven by singles by Komorek and Ryser.

Rusnak led the Hubbard to victory in the circle. The ace went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out 11. Narkum threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Kaitlyn Ezzone took the loss for Edgewood. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing ten runs on 13 hits, striking out four and walking zero.

The Warriors tallied six hits in the game. Paolillo and Claire Randolph each managed multiple hits. Randolph and Paolillo each collected two hits to lead.

Hubbard totaled 13 hits in the game. Komorek, Ryser, and Lexi Najdusak each had multiple hits. Hubbard was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Najdusak had the most chances in the field with 11.
