EAGLES WOULD NOT BE DENIED

SPRINGFIELD, OHIO- Jaden Rishel shut down the Springfield Tigers in the Division IV District Championship, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Warren JFK Eagles to a 3-0 victory on Thursday.

One bright spot for the Tigers was a single by Kolten Ruark in the seventh inning. The Eagles racked up eight hits as Micheal Bartoe and Caleb Hadley all had multiple hits to lead things at the plate while Rishel led the Eagles to victory on the mound as he lasted seven innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.

Braden Butler took the loss on the mound for the Tigers as the righty went six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out four and walking one.

The Eagles will now advance to the Regional Semifinal where they will take on the Dalton Bulldogs. That game is scheduled for June 1st at 2:00.
