EARTH QUAKE; SALEM SPOILS CRESTVIEW’S UNBEATEN SEASON

SALEM, OH- It was obvious that Saturday’s match meant just a little bit more for Salem as the Lady Quakers hosted the state-ranked Crestview Rebels.  The Lady Quakers were out to prove themselves to the area, the state, and to each other, as they were able to dethrone the Rebs in 4 sets, 17-25, 25-23, 25-23, and 26-24.

For the Quakers Elly Exline had 16 kills and 16 digs while Hayden Carner added 12 kills and 4 blocks and Jaden Hamilton pitched in 8 kills and 3 blocks. In the backcourt, Kaylee Freman had 23 assists and 11 digs while Jenna McClish had 24 digs and Taylor Troy contributed 15 digs.

The Rebels were led by Sidney Rambo and her 10-kill, 2 block performance.  Shelby Rambo also dotted the stat sheet with 9 kills and a pair of blocks.  Brenna Auer had 17 digs and 9 kills, and Lucy Montgomery added 39 helpers in 131 attempts while adding 2 kills and a pair of aces.

The Quakers will travel to Hubbard on Monday. The Quakers are now 11-4 and the Rebels drop to 14-1.
