EAST LIVERPOOL PREVAILS IN KSU COLUMBIANA CLASSIC

SALEM, OH- The East Liverpool Potters Volleyball team stormed into Salem Tuesday evening and came away with a 25-23, 18-25, 25-12, 25-21 victory during the Kent State Volleyball Classic at John A Cabas Gymnasium.

The Potters used a strong 3rd set performance to pull away from the home-standing Quakers.  Coach Dan McKinstry, in his 2nd game at the helm of the Potters, commended his team’s excellent passing during that 3rd set,   “Our passing during that set allowed us to really separate ourselves tonight”.  Kiya White lead the Potters with 22 Kills, 8 of which came consecutively during that 3rd set.

Faith Grafton’s 19 assists and Deloni Ice 22 assists led the team in that category who were without setter Gabby George on the night.  Naudia Williams also contributed to the win with 8 kills.

Salem was lead by Rylie Troy with 15 kills and 10 digs, as well as Zoie Reid with 10 kills and 7 digs.

Salem (1-1) looks to rebound as it visits Boardman on Saturday.  The Potters (2-0) look to continue their winning ways by hosting rival Beaver Local on Thursday.
