EDISON OPENS NEW FACILITY IN STYLE, UPENDS EAST LIVERPOOL

RICHMOND, OH- It was a day that some will never forget- as the Edison Wildcats opened up their brand new all-turf facilities to regular season play on Tuesday.  Although the conditions were sunny, it was anything but warm.  With temperatures at 39 degrees at first pitch, it was mind over matter for Edison as they cashed in at seemingly every opportunity throughout the game on their way to an 18-0 victory.

East Liverpool watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 18-0 loss to Edison Wildcats on Wednesday. Edison scored on a sacrifice fly by Isaac Zastudil and a single by Eli Wilson in the first inning.  Potter pitchers could not shake the cold, as they walked 13 of the 39 batters faced, and hit an additional five batters.

The Potters struggled to put runs on the board as well with only a pair of hits.

Edison got on the board in the first inning. Matt Parsons was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.

One bright spot for the Potters was a single by Paxton Grimes in the first inning and a Mason Ludwig stolen base in the second.

Hunter Rothacker was credited with the victory for Edison. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out three. Gage Cline threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Mason Ludwig took the loss for the Potters. The southpaw surrendered eight runs on two hits over one inning, striking out two.  Grimes led East Liverpool with two hits in three at-bats.

The teams will try to get back into action today at East Liverpool to end the season series, Game time is set for 5pm.
